An immersive experience, Elden Ring is a masterpiece in the gaming world. With worldbuilding from legendary fantasy writer George R.R. Martin, the game is more than your average RPG. Now, TV & Movie Industry Consultant Rick Lyman is excited to share that the game will be hitting the screen in a live-action film directed by Alex Garden for A24.

Elden Ring is a video game like no other. With an open world and worldbuilding established by George R. R. Martin (author of the iconic Game of Thrones series), Elden Ring immerses the player into a world all its own. On release in 2022, Elden Ring was the talk of the gaming world. Although he leans more towards films for his entertainment, Rick Lyman even picked up a copy! Fascinated by the worldbuilding elements from George R. R. Martin, Lyman had to give it a go. And what an incredible experience that choice was for the TV & Movie Industry Consultant!
Now, Elden Ring is pushing beyond the boundaries of open world gameplay to enter the cinema. In a recent announcement from A24, it was shared that the entertainment company known for blockbuster hits like Midsommar and Hereditary, will produce the upcoming picture. Rick Lyman is excited to see how director Alex Garden will transform the iconic video game into a live-action movie.
Although he has high hopes for the film due to its A24 ties, Rick Lyman is still being a bit cautious in his expectations. Translating a video game into a live action is a unique task all its own. Although we have seen recent success with this pull in the new Minecraft movie, this isn’t exactly the norm. Need Lyman remind you of the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action? Big yikes!
